Here I am World!

Well after four years of college, three semesters of student teaching, and who knows how many hours of studying and designing lesson plans and activities for my class in York County, VA, I have finally entered the real world. A few weeks ago I joined Norfolk Public Schools, and will be teaching fourth grade at Ingleside Elementary School this year. I think that I am fairly well prepared for my new job, but I know that I will have to learn many things 'on the go' as I venture through this first year. Already I realize that much of what I will need to survive the next nine months, I did not learn from any class, but nevertheless, I believe that I can be successful. I hope that other new teachers and pre-service teachers will find this blog and join me on my quest to become not only a better teacher, but also a proud 'owner' of a classroom (version 2.0) =P
